Boxing fans have no doubt Mike Tyson will lose to Jake Paul despite the heavyweight legend posting a new training video.
Tyson will take on YouTuber Paul in Texas in July, four years after his last ring appearance and almost two decades since his final professional fight. No rules have been announced for the bout, which will be streamed on Netflix, but Tyson has insisted it will be a "real fight" despite its 'exhibition' status.
The former undisputed world champion posted a point-of-view video of himself training over the weekend, but despite his display of speed and power, fans were not convinced. "People who bang on about this act like we haven't seen Tyson v Roy Jones Jr or his fight against Kevin McBride 19 years ago. Mike Tyson is getting knocked out," said one.
"Yeh for all of 20 secs till Mike gasses. He’s nearly 60yrs old, no way he out staminas a fairly athletic 20 something yr old," added another. "Watch Mike's last fights he can't move," said another, while a final fan said simply: "Mike is old, Jake will beat him."
Tyson, who will be 58 when he takes on Paul, insists he will roll back the years when the first bell rings in Texas. “I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul. He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.
"It's a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him." Paul has won nine of his 10 professional fights with his sole defeat coming against Tommy Fury last year.
Paul's last two fights saw him knockout 'real' professional boxers inside the first round but he has seemingly returned to 'novelty' fights with the announcement he will take on Tyson. The social media star will be almost 30 years younger than his opponent on fight night.
