Mike Tyson has confirmed his fight against Jake Paul will be sanctioned as an exhibition bout - and fans aren't happy about it.
Boxing icon Tyson is making a return to the ring this summer when he faces social media star Paul in one of the biggest and most controversial fights of the year. The fight will take place on July 20 and there could be up to 80,000 fans in attendance at the Dallas Cowboys on the night
Many of the fight details were unclear but Tyson has now confirmed it will not go on his and Paul's professional records. "This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won't see any of the laws we're fighting under," he told Fox News. "This is a fight. I don't think he's faster than me.
"I've seen a YouTube video of him at 16 doing weird dancing. That's not the guy I'm fighting. This is a guy who's going to try and hurt me, which I'm accustomed to, and he's going to be greatly mistaken. Right now, I'm scared to death. As the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it's reality, and in reality I'm invincible.'
It's been reported the exhibition will not be scored by official judges and rounds will likely be two minutes in length instead of three. Paul and Tyson will also likely wear 16-ounce gloves instead of the traditional 10-ounce gloves that are used in professional fights. One fan reacted to the news by writing: "'Real fight' and 'exhibition' are like flip flops and jeans. They shouldn’t go together."

"Jake KSI for the Tommy Fury fight being an exhibition by the way," another user noted. "Of course it is it was never a real boxing fight to begin, Jake is a joke," a third comment read. "So basically it's a sparring match and there will probably be no knockouts because of the big gloves," a final user added.
Tyson, who has been training several times a day, said he admires Paul for leaving behind his influencer career to take up boxing. There is no bad blood between the two, but Tyson vowed to teach the YouTuber-turned-boxer a lesson. "I will do just that but dislike him? I do not have no grudges against him, he's beautiful - not from that perspective," he added.
