Nando de Colo was ejected against Nanterre on Sunday after receiving his second technical foul, and ASVEL ultimately lost the game, suffering their third loss in the last four games in the French League (LNB).
After the match, which marked the fifth loss in the last six games in all competitions for the team, Parker said that he didn't think the team was in a bad condition.
"I wouldn't say that because there were still positives this evening in terms of intensity. It was there, but we need to bring it back more often, more consistently over the duration of the match," he said.
"We must not look down but up. Every match is important," Parker said about the upcoming double week in the EuroLeague.
Naturally, when a team is on a losing streak, the eyes turn to the head coach. Asked whether at least some of the faults should fall on him, Parker agreed.
"We are a team, we are together. Of course, I take some of the responsibility for what happens to us, I'm the coach. We must help players to be better, to better express their potential," he said before talking about the players. "It's difficult to take these defeats. But they are still good, they practice well. And they try to bring that back to the court every night."
In the first two games in the EuroLeague, ASVEL lost both matches by a combined margin of -47. As such, speculations have been going on about a possible change in the head coaching department in the club.
Parker did not want to directly address the situation and stressed that both the coaching staff and the players must continue working to eventually win.
"I don't want to talk about my personal situation. I'm focusing on the next match. Afterward, whatever happens, happens," Parker said.
