NC State’s other DJ has found a home. After DJ Burns landed with the Cavaliers for the summer league, the other star from NC State’s final four run, DJ Horne, has also found his summer league spot.

According to NBA reporter Cody Taylor, Horne has agreed to join the San Antonio Spurs for the upcoming Summer League. Here was Taylor’s tweet with that news:

“NBA Sources: Former NC State guard DJ Horne will be playing Summer League with the San Antonio Spurs.”

Congrats to Horne, who finally gets to cash in on his NBA dreams after a long and winding college career that ultimately ended with the Final Four run of a lifetime. And while DJ Burns stole many of the headlines, it was Horne who was the main engine of the Wolfpack offense, and he led them in scoring in 2024 at a hair under 17 points per game.

Before his one-year stop at NC State, though, Horne previously played at two other schools. Once upon a time, a young DJ Horne shared a backcourt at Illinois State with a young Antonio Reeves, 2024 All-American from Kentucky. Imagine if those two had stuck around, huh?

Anyway, Horne moved on to Arizona State, where he was solid and proved capable of filling up the cup at the Power 5 level. Once he got to NC State, in his fifth season of hoops, Horne thrived.

Although the NCAA Tournament run came to an end in the semifinals, Horne still realized how lucky he was to experience such a remarkable and unexpected end to the season.

“It meant everything,” he said. “To come home, for Coach Keatts to give me this opportunity to go out there and make all my memories with my brothers the way we do. I don’t think we could have drew it up any better. If we won the whole thing, it would have been a story. I’m grateful for this experience. Not everybody gets to say they went to the Final Four. NC State did.”

Although Horne’s time at NC State is now over with, he isn’t going to forget this season any time soon. Likewise, the Wolfpack fans are certainly grateful for what he helped accomplish this year.
