Anthony Joshua felt there was "clear winner" of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight

Anthony Joshua couldn't believe questions were being asked about who won Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's undisputed fight.

Usyk beat Fury by split decision last weekend in Saudi Arabia to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion in 25 years. The Ukrainian weathered an early storm to almost KO Fury in the ninth round but the Brit was saved the bell. 'AJ' applauded Usyk as he was announced the winner and was in disbelief at his promoter Eddie Hearn's take on the fight.

"I went over to him after the fight and said 'What do you think? Who's got it?' He said to me 'Are you joking? Usyk is the clear winner.' A lot of people felt like that, I had him winning but narrowly," Hearn told BoxNation. Fury's loss to Usyk has delayed his domestic clash against Joshua again as they were expected to finally meet in the ring in February.

Fury has since returned home to Morecambe after his defeat and will go ahead with his rematch against Usyk in October, the Brit's promoter Frank Warren revealed. "He's back here; he's recuperating and his mood is that he wants the rematch. That is already signed for so that will happen," Warren told talkSPORT.

"When the fight was made, there was a rematch clause. That was the condition that was required by the people who invested in the fight and so if Tyson wants it, and he has said he does want it, then it will go ahead. I told him to go off... he's had six months in training camp.

"He's had three weeks with his family in that time. I told him to go and enjoy it with his family, sit down then come back. Contractually it's there and if he wants to come back and do it then fine." Fury is expected to make another £100million for his rematch against Usyk, who earned around £35million for his undisputed win.

The Brit, who blamed the ongoing war in Usyk's home country as one of the reasons he lost, believes he did enough to win the fight. “I think he won a few of those rounds but I won the majority of them. His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war. Make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion. I’ve had a split decision loss with a little man," he said.
