Charles Barkley has never been one to hold back his thoughts and feelings. When Barkley shares his opinion, it’s usually unfiltered and honest, something that can be really rare in today’s world. On Saturday night, the man who was once known as “The Round Mound of Rebound” at Auburn obliterated the officials, after they called a technical foul on Anthony Edwards.

"Hey, Mr. Official. Nobody came to see your ass play. Stop giving taunting technicals in the game. Nobody came to see you. You give a kid a warning. You don't call no taunting technicals in the Playoffs. Don't do that." – Charles Barkley 🏀🦓🎙️ https://t.co/75cwZQ90zl pic.twitter.com/Xr3GEER9fM

The play that Barkley was referencing was a layup from Anthony Edwards. After he made the bucket, he proceeded to stare down Reggie Jackson in passing, as he was moving back on defense.

How is this a technical foul on Anthony Edwards?!

Barkley and company got to see another show from Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards on Saturday night. He continues to prove that he’s one of the best players on Planet Earth, if not the best. On Saturday night, he erupted for 43 points, joining Kobe Bryant as the only two players 22 years old or younger to score 40-plus points in back-to-back playoff games.

Edwards looks like a man on a mission and even the Nuggets might not be able to stop him. He stuffed the stat sheet with 43 points and seven rebounds in 42 minutes of work in Game 1. It was a career night for the former Georgia star. He seems focused on claiming the throne as the best player in the NBA. It’s going to be fascinating to see if anyone can stop him because he’s playing incredible basketball right now.

Minnesota now leads the defending champs 1-0 in the series, in what should be one of the best series of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

Last season, Edwards helped propel the Minnesota Timberwolves to the first round of the NBA Playoffs, where they were eventually eliminated by the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets would go on to win the 2023 NBA Championship. The Timberwolves were eliminated in Game 5 by the Denver Nuggets last season, despite a spectacular performance from Edwards. He managed to stuff the stat sheet with 29 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.

The former Georgia Bulldog was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he’s only proven the franchise right with his electrifying playmaking ability. Edwards was named SEC Rookie of the Year in 2020 when he played for Georgia.
