Tyson Fury has been told he still has "love handles" despite being in great shape for his undisputed fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
Heavyweight champion Fury is just days away from his mega-fight against Usyk, which takes place this Saturday in Saudi Arabia. The winner will become the first man in 25 years to hold all four major heavyweight world belts, with Lennox Lewis last achieving the feat in 1999. The fight was supposed to take place in February, but Fury pulled out after being cut above his eye in sparring.
Fury has shown off his latest physique ahead of the fight as he looks noticeably slimmer than usual, but some fans still weren't impressed with his shape. "The best in shape out of shape man I've ever seen," one comment read. "Man has always had a problem with them love handles," a second user wrote.
"Fury has abs for the first time ever, it’s a wrap," another fan added. "Bro has the craziest love handles I’ve ever seen," a fourth comment read. "This will be the best version of Fury. Here we go," a final user wrote. Fury will likely have a 60lb weight advantage over Usyk, who usually weighs in at 200lb whilst the Brit steps on the scale around 260lb.
Fury has been eating around 3000 calories on his rest days but doubles his intake to nearly 6000 calories for training days. A typical breakfast for the Brit includes eggs, toast and lean beef sausages whilst he tucks into steak and potatoes for dinner. The Brit has mocked Usyk throughout their fight build-up but has now admitted he will be in for a tough night at the office.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to lock horns in a huge bout on May 18 with each fighter attempting to etch their name in boxing history as the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. The stakes couldn't be higher as the pair will go head to head for the prestigious WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles.
"Oleksandr Usyk's a real bad man and to underestimate Usyk you'd be a mug," Fury told Queensberry Promotions. "I'm training hard for him, I'm doing everything I can. I respect Usyk as a man. I respect his career as well - Olympic champion, undisputed cruiserweight champion, unified heavyweight champion.
"You have to respect that, I'm fighting the real deal. I'm looking forward to the challenge. He's a southpaw, he's got good footwork, goodboxingability, technically sound. He's proved he can mix it with the big heavyweights because he's beatAnthony JoshuaandDaniel Dubois."
